Bugatti 55. The Type 55 was powered by a 23L straight eight engine producing 130hp. Bugatti was a legendary producer of sports and racing cars in the early part of the 20th century but faded during World War II and stopped production in 1956.
It also rides on Bugattis signature eight-spoke alloy wheels. Molsheim 01 April 2021. Built from 193135 it utilized pieces from Bugattis Grand Prix racers including its chassis and its supercharged 23-liter double overhead-cam eight.
In fact Bugatti Type 55 chassis 55221 was ordered by Guy Bouriat as early as January 1 1932.
23 litre Supersport car Type 55 supercharged 4-seat torpedo body complying with Le Mans regulations. Of these just 14 were completed with Jean Bugattis Roadster coachwork. Built from 193135 it. No more than about 8000 cars were made.
